This is a multi-meter interpretation of the Police tune. The Sting original provides the core material for an extended introduction, interlude, and solo section. Much of the melody is in 7/8. The drum solo features a Bach G Major 'Cello Prelude interpretation of the original Sting guitar part, but in such extended meters as 11 and 13. This is an excerpt from the 2004 cd entitled Squashua. Mick Goodrick, Vardan Ovsepian, Take Toriyama, and Joshua Davis, playing a Berklee College of Music faculty recital on March 11, 2002. Mick was very generous with playing and sharing his music over many years of teaching at Berklee together. He has been a life-changing teacher and inspiration to so many. We are all grateful. Vaguely Asian, a Steve Swallow piece on Noisy Old Men, is quoted here.
